Replay

Failed a deploy and missed events? Replay them.

  1. Open the dashboard, go to Webhooks, and select the webhook.
  2. In the Deliveries log, filter by status (Failed) or find the delivery by event type or email id.
  3. Open the delivery to see the payload, the response your server returned and each attempt.
  4. Click Replay.

Replaying resets the delivery and starts a new series of attempts using the same retry schedule. The body and webhook-id are unchanged, so an idempotent handler will recognise events it has already processed. The timestamp and signature are fresh, so the 5-minute tolerance check passes.

Tips for catching up

  • Before replaying, fix and deploy your endpoint, then confirm with a test send to delivered@test.spacepost.dev.
  • Replay in chronological order if your handler is order-sensitive.
  • Delivery history is kept for 30 days. For anything older, reconcile with GET /emails/{id} which returns the current last_event.
  • If you only need the current state of a few emails, the API is quicker than replaying: GET /emails?limit=100 lists recent emails with their last_event.
